How to Build a Work Wear Wardrobe

I was asked recently to put together a post focusing only on work wear. This is one of my favourite types of posts, I love putting together capsule wardrobes and creating lots of outfit inspiration. For this post I wanted to look for smart casual pieces suitable for jobs such as teacher or an office job. Each piece was specifically chosen for comfort, warmth and mixability.

Styling Tip
The key to owning a wardrobe that will mix and match is to ensure that you choose similar colour tones for your clothes. For example, your wardrobe shouldn't be full of pastel colours, brights, deeps etc...stick to the colour tones that best suit your complexion and they will always promise to match each other when it comes to putting together different outfit combinations. For this post I have used a deep colour palette.

Capsule Wardrobe
To create a capsule work wardrobe that will literally see you through the entire winter and beyond look for the following key items;

At least 3 Trousers/Skirts
1-2 Dresses
2 Cover-ups
At least 4 Tops
1 Comfy Flat Shoe that will work with both trousers and dresses/skirts
1 Versatile Boot that will work with both trousers and dresses/skirts

Okay so here are all the items I selected with prices and links to purchase. Keep scrolling down to see 21 different outfit options from these items. And I know I could create even more!

Hopefully it has demonstrated how you should always shop with outfit creation as your primary focus. You may already have many of the above items in your wardrobe so always keep in mind what you have to work with when you are shopping for new items.
