Maison Carlow

Everyday I'm convinced today's the day the weather is going to change. I just get that feeling that summer is on it's way, I see a flash of sunshine or feel a warmth in the breeze and get that exciting feeling that summer is beginning. But then the temperature drops again and back comes the rain. The dull dark skies is what I can't cope with we need sunshine and bright skies. I'm lucky this summer to have a holiday in Portugal to look forward to so I know for at least one week I'll get to wear some summery styles and that is keeping me going!

So yesterday I popped into Maison Carlow to check out what new arrivals they've had since my last visit and I wasn't disappointed. What I love about this shop is that you are always guaranteed to find some statement prints and lots of striking colour. I just couldn't live my life without print and colour, I know I'm always banging on about it but I simply love how I feel when I'm wearing something with colour or print.

Hard to tell from pic but this green top is actually a very fine knit. It is soooo soft on and extremely comfy to wear. The scarf is separate but looks terrific with it. How fab would this be for work or for a lunch date? Gorgeous teamed with navy or white.

Love tops that combine sheer detail and embroidery. Plus the colours are gorgeous on this, you could have great fun accessorising this top with colourful earrings or heels - orange accessories would be stunning! Team with your favourite going out jeans/trousers.

It has pockets!!! Why do we love pockets so much? The length of this dress is so flattering and great for adding some style to your day wear. The dress I tried on is a size S but was a little big around the waist, I definitely would add a belt to this, I'm thinking black or teal. White would be too much as the white print is very prominent around the waist.

The colours speak for themselves in this one guys. It's hard to see, but if you look super close you see there is a matching fabric belt. Again this dress is really comfy to wear and because of the all over striking print you don't need to worry about adding many accessorisies. White shoes would be stunning with it!

And my final pick is this graphic print dress, this is one of those dresses that doesn't look much on the hanger but gorgeous on. The combination of a v-neckline and a slight flare on the skirt makes for a very flattering dress. Again this dress also comes with a matching fabric belt allowing you to define your waist. This dress would be great for day wear and I feel if you team it with a tailored navy blazer it would give a fresh summer style to your work wear wardrobe.

What do you think guys, do you like my finds? Next time you're in Carlow, do pay Maison a visit. They are also fantastic for gifts, with a range of children's wear, jewellery, scarves, bags, pottery, candles and more.

Happy Shopping!!
