Get the Look: Jennifer's Bronzed Glow using BB cream!.

So what do we do about the face?!

So you're all tanned and gorgeous for the summer - false or natural it doesn't matter to me! (For my amazing False Tan Tips, see http://lipstickshoesandparties.blogspot.ie/2012/04/no-tango-tans-please.html or just scroll down a few posts for my blog post)
It's important that we get the face makeup right, or there's a risk of looking "orangey" when trying to match makeup with your tan.

This look is really easy to achieve, just follow my simple steps....

1. Always prep the skin for makeup by cleansing and moisturising well.

2. Instead of foundation, apply a BB cream all over the face. Make sure you match the colour in with your tan.
BB creams are the latest beauty trend worldwide - a cross between moisturiser, bronzer, foundation and smoothing illuminators- and are great to use in place of a tinted moisturiser or foundation for a truly natural look. Use a little concealer around the eyes or on any blemishes if needed.
Three popular BB creams for all budgets: MAC Prep + Prime, Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector and Clinique Age Defence.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer brick.
3. Instead of setting with a mattifying powder, dust a little illuminating bronzer all over the face. Try Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick for a splurge (a multi purpose favourite of mine - my kit wouldn't be without it!), or if you're on a budget try Rimmel Sunshimmer 3 in 1 Shimmering Bronzer. Dust over the forehead & down the nose, accross the cheeks and the chin. You can also dust a little shimmer on the shoulders, collar bones, and down along the arms and legs too.

4. You can pop a little nude shimmery brown eyeshadow on the lids (or use the darker colour on the Bobbi Brown brick. Put plenty of mascara on, top an bottom for definition. Push the lashes upwards with the mascara brush an layer it up to create a wide-eyed look like Jen's. See my last blog post on Mascara for lots of info on mascaras.

5. You'll notice how Jen's eyebrows are really well defined. This frames her eyes and makes her look "groomed". My personal favourite product for this is Benefit Browzings, available in 3 colours. This handy little product allows you to tidy the brows and tame unruly hairs using the pigmented wax, and colour them in and fill in the gaps with the more highly pigmented powder. Magic! If you don't have this product in your makeup bag, try using your eyebrow pencil to fill them in, then brush on a little matt brown eyeshadow to add a little extra colour and depth.

6. Finish up with some of your favourite pinky/nude lip gloss.

I hope you try out this look at home, and enjoy your natural fresh face. I know I've enjoyed trying it on myself, and although I have been sick with a cold the past week (it's summer I know, so shouldn't be allowed!!) I have found that this look really perked me up, and at least I didn't look as ill as I felt!!
