Christmas day is fast approaching guys....how exciting!!! Do you know what makes me look forward to an occasion even more? Knowing what I'm going to be wearing. Who would have guessed it! This year we're staying at home for Christmas day and having my family for dinner. So for my outfit I want to look like I've made an effort but most importantly I want to be comfortable. Myself and my hubby will be doing a morning of prep and an afternoon of serving food and drink and entertaining. For me the best option is a trousers and a fab top because I want to be able to curl up on the couch and watch a movie with everyone once the madness is over. An easy wear cover-up is also a must, most of the day I'll be warm from the heat of the oven and having my house full of guests but later on I want to have something to hand that will add warmth but not dress down my look too much. Statement accessories are also key here for ensuring your look has a touch of glamour.
Okay So I've put together a selection of tops for you to choose from. What each of these tops have in common is - statement detailing, comfort and effortless style! Thankfully I already have the top I'll be wearing...if you follow me on social media you might remember it from my shopping trip to Newbridge. It's a burgundy pleated blouse with black necktie and it's from Zara. If I wasn't already sorted I actually don't know how I would pick from the below tops, there really are some gorgeous options out there ladies.
Wear With...
Well I think I've provided lots of options for your Christmas day top (maybe too many....sorry) Nice comfy trousers to team with your top is next on the agenda. I have kept the options small here (phew). I have two styles selected one from Dunnes Stores and the other from Carraig Donn. Maybe you already have a favourite pair in your wardrobe - it's always nice to shop from your own wardrobe it's free!! If you feel a dressy top is enough of a statement for a relaxed family Christmas then you could always opt for black jeans or a dark wash jeans. Remember comfort is key, most of us are pretty exhausted by the time Christmas day arrives not to mention by the time dinner is served.

Accessorise With...
Don't slip up a the last hurdle ladies always plan at least one statement accessory to finish off your look. A gorgeous pair of shoes (with some fluffy slippers on standby) a striking pair of earrings and an eye catching ring are exactly what I'll be accessorising my look with.
Cover Up with...
Again as I mentioned earlier having a nice layer to add over your top in between oven sweats is a good option.
