Who said you can't get your blossom on if you're not a girly girl? Floral prints have really bloomed this summer, making it hard not to add some flowers to your style. Florals don't have to mean pretty and girly, you can still have an edgy attitude to your style while delving into the floral madness.
The easiest way to pick a bloom that's not going to look like you're off to an afternoon tea party, is to go for a dark colour. Surprisingly enough there seems to be a huge choice of black florals at the moment. I decided I'd tempt you with a khaki coloured dress instead, really liking khaki right now. I'm wearing my River Island khaki boots to death!!

Styling Tip
This shape dress will be extremely flattering on the Strawberry shaped figure (broad shoulders, large boobs, smaller hips). The wide straps and the wrap v-neck slim large boobs and wide shoulders.
Option 1
Everyone knows to add an edgy twist to a dress all you have to do is add a leather jacket. A black leather jacket is such a wearable piece to have in your wardrobe, you will have it forever! Go get one now if you don't own one (seriously, do it). The leather jacket options in stores right now can be very 'on trend', with details like embroidery and pearls. For this to be a go-to piece for years in your wardrobe I would recommend you choose a simple classic leather jacket without all the trendy trimmings.

Option 2
Bodysuits are well and truly back ladies. I have to admit I haven't slipped into a bodysuit since the early nineties when I was a teen!! I had one in every colour and every pattern. I love the idea of wearing one under a dress to give arm coverage or to add a warm layer, or especially just to give your dress another look. I have picked a khaki coloured body to match in perfectly with the river island dress, you could also team it with black.
The top has a built in choker detail which I feel really fits with the floral rock chick look I'm going for with this look.

Option 3
My third styling option for a not so girly floral look is the denim jacket. Who doesn't love a good denim jacket? Day-time night-time, summer-time, winter-time, any time is good. What I like about this one that I found on Zara is the colour, it's not too dark for a summery look and it's not too light either, it's a nice medium hue, a shade you won't tire of. The subtle frill detail is a nice touch too.

Option 4
For my final styling option I have gone for a cardigan. I don't know what it is about even the word cardigan it makes me think of old lady. anyhow, I cannot tell you how many cardis I possess, they are just a layer you cannot live without. New Look have some great cardigan options right now and as always with New Look they are so affordable. The longline style is really cool at the moment but I've always dipped in and out of the longer length. It looks so stylish over your denims as well. White would look really strong with our khaki dress but in keeping with our non girly look I have gone with black.
